Alvin "Max" Bauer, age 78 years of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 at St. Andrews Health Care in Batesville. Born September 22, 1928 in Batesville he was the son of the late Otta & Anna (Schore) Bauer. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Clark in Lawrenceburg, IN in September 1950. Mr. Bauer was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired in 1990 from Batesville Water Works after 45 years. Mr. Bauer is survived by his children Joe, Chris & Scott Bauer of Batesville, IN; Kevin Bauer of Oldenburg, IN; Dr. Lee Ann Bauer of Batesville, IN & Laura Oesterling of Oldenburg, IN; grandchildren Ryan Meyer, Sam & Clair Abplanalp, Josh, Holly, Kyle, Anna, Ellen & Kate Bauer; great grandson Roan Meyer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Bauer, brother Ivan Bauer who died in WWII & sister Helen Siebert. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Huntersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Brum Wood c/o Meyers Funeral Home.
