Anna Louise Koester, age 85 years of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. Born June 23, 1921 in Batesville she was the daughter of the late Edward & Loretta (Dirscherl) Pohlar. She was a 1939 graduate of Batesville High School. Mrs. Koester was a former board member of the Peoples Bank & Trust in Sunman. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville and was also active at St. Jacobs United Church of Christ in Blue Creek. She married Clarence Koester in 1941 and was a homemaker on her & her husbands dairy farm. Mrs. Koester is survived by her sons Dr. Lloyd (Arlene Gesell) Koester of Richmond, IN & Dale (Marian Miller) Koester of Sunman, IN; grandchildren Dirk (Kristen), Scott (Joslen), Ashley & Courtney Koester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Koester in 1980 and her sister Jean Hines. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery in Penntown, IN. Memorials are suggested to Sunman Rescue 20.
