Arthur Leroy Cowins, age 70 years of Greensburg, IN passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at his home. Born October 11, 1938 in Gwynville, IN he was the son of the late Roy & Lena May (Swango) Cowins. He married Patsy Imel on June 23, 1957 in Shelbyville, IN. Mr. Cowins retired from James River in Greensburg. Mr. Cowins is survived by his wife Patsy Cowins, sons Tony Cowins of Madison, IN, Jamie Cowins & Darren Cowins both of Greensburg, IN; daughter Connie Ray of Greensburg, IN; brothers Jerry, James & Greg Cowins and sister Deborah Verhage. He will also be missed by his 17 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters Sherri Anderson & Tammy Lawrence and sister Carolyn Murphy. Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 1-3pm followed by services at 3pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Pastor Doug Preston officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery in New Point, IN.
