Barbara A. Krieger, age 73 of Batesville, IN passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born August 9, 1939 in Greensburg, IN she was the daughter of Merle & Ida (Ogden) Johnston. The 1957 graduate of New Point High School retired from Hill Rom. She also worked for Steinkamp Co., Ziegler Co., Bruns Gutzwiller, Batesville Building Materials, part time for Tri County Financial Inc. and up until her death, at Crafts and Occasions. She married Melvin Krieger on November 9, 1957 at St. John Huntersville Church. She was a member of St. John UCC, the Batesville Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W., F.O.E. 1130 Batesville and the Ladies Red Hats. Barb was a great cook. Family & friends knew she made the best chili soups & potato salad. She treasured all gatherings of family & friends. Everyone who has the privilege to remember Barb will recall a loving and most giving daughter, wife, mother & friend. To help another was her daily reward. Barb is survived by her husband Melvin Krieger, daughter Ann Narwold of Batesville, IN, son and his wife Brian & Deb Krieger of Batesville, IN and grandchildren Colt Narwold, B.J. Narwold, Blake Krieger & Brittany Krieger. Visitation will be Friday, August 24, 2012 from 10am until time of service at 1pm at St. John United Church of Christ, 300 Huntersville Rd., Batesville, IN 47006 with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John Church Cemetery Fund c/o the funeral home.
