Barbara Jean Thackery, age 64 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital.  She was born on January 30, 1953 in Rushville, IN.

Barbara retired from Hill-Rom after many years and went to work for Batesville Home Helpers.  She was best known for her caregiving, and being a great person to everyone.  Barbara always made sure everyone else was taken care of first then herself.  Her home was always open to anyone.  She loved gardening and tending to her flowers around her home.  Barbara was a wonderful cook as well and her family will miss her good home cooking.  She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her step-mother Jean Piper of Connersville, IN; children, Jennifer Clemons and Jason Dyer both of Greensburg; step-son, Brent Thackery of Colorado Springs; five grandchildren Brittany, Paige, Elijah, Zak and Reese; one great grandson, Owen; brother, Ralph Piper Jr.; step brothers, Brad and Tom Gossett and step sisters, Jenny Kuhn and Patty Norris; along with her ex-husband, James Dyer along with her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ralph & Betty Piper, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Thackery and daughter Jamie Dyer.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 1-3PM with funeral services immediately following at 3PM, all at New Point Christian Church in New Point, IN with Mark Vice officiating.  Burial will follow in Rossburg Cemetery, New Point, IN.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
