Betty Lou Evans, 95, fell asleep and woke with the angels on Friday, January 13, 2023. Born in Mattoon, Illinois on November 26, 1927 and raised in Champaign Illinois, Betty Lou would later attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. While attending Moody Bible Institute she met her beloved husband, Donald F. Evans. The two were united in marriage on May 26, 1950 and together had four children, Donald Jr, Steve, Karen and Kathy. Betty worked as a secretary for her church as well as at a doctor's office and enjoyed that up until becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother.

Betty had a passion for music and learned to play the piano at the very young age of 7 years old. She continued to develop this talent and later played for her church in Illinois for numerous funerals and Sunday services. Upon her husband retiring, they moved to Sumter, South Carolina and lived there together with their daughter Kathy for 37 years. During those years Betty continued to play for numerous churches in Sumter for funeral services, weddings, Sunday services and cantatas. In the summer of 2020 Betty Lou, Donald and their daughter Kathy moved to Batesville, Indiana to be closer to their granddaughter Amy Lesneski.
