Brian Lee Thackery, age 55 of New Point, IN passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Harris County, TX. Born May 16, 1955 in Greensburg, IN he is the son of Marilyn (Mohr) Thackery of Greensburg, IN & the late John Thackery. He has been an over-the-road truck driver since graduating high school. He drove many years for Sharon Brown Inc. and was currently driving for Billman Trucking. He married Barbara Piper on May 22, 1992. Brian is a member of the New Point Christian Church, New Point Lodge 255 F&AM and the Decatur County Region 7 A.B.A.T.E. He was an Eagle Scout of New Point Troop 78, Sectional Champ in High School Wrestling and avid motorcycle rider owning a 1985 Classic Ultraglide. In addition to his mother, Brian is survived by his wife Barbara Thackery, son Brent Thackery of Bloomington, IN, step children Jason Dyer of New Point, IN and Jennifer Clemons (Craig) of Greensburg, IN; grandchildren Brittany Dyer, Paige Clemons, Elijah Thackery, Zechariah Thackery and Reese Dyer. He will also be missed by his brothers Mark Thackery (Pam) of New Point, IN & David Thackery (Becky) of Ponteverda Beach, FL and sister Janet Chadwell (George) of Greensburg, IN. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2011 from 4-8pm with Masonic Services at 8pm at New Point Christian Church. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:00am at the church with Mark Vice & Danny Wolford officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family or Donor's Choice c/o the funeral home.
