Calvin Richard Huffmeyer, age 85 years of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in Batesville, IN. Born December 6, 1924 near Napoleon, IN he is the son of the late Herman & Sena (Klingworth) Huffmeyer. Calvin's father died when he was only 9 years old so he had to go to work on the farm at an early age. He loved farming and being with his family. He was always there for them when they needed help in any way. He married Charlotte Tichenor on April 27, 1946 at St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon where he was the 1st boy baptized in the new church. He is now a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville. Mr. Huffmeyer is survived by his wife Charlotte Huffmeyer; daughter Elaine (Danny) Ortman of Greensburg, IN; sons Ronald (Carol) Huffmeyer & Edward (Cindy) Huffmeyer both of Greensburg, IN & Gerald (Jenny) Huffmeyer of Batesville, IN. He will also be missed by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; his brother, Kenneth Huffmeyer of Osgood, IN and his sister, Elnora Vanosdol of Elmira, NY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Norman Huffmeyer and sisters Martha Hartwell, Mabel Lauber, Mildred Ollar & Helen Schulenburg and 1 granddaughter. Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 5-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Services will be Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00am at Meyers Funeral Home with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery (Huntersville). Memorials are suggested to Rescue 10 Batesville c/o the funeral home.
