Christy Marie Thompson, 63 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Christy was born on December 22, 1957 to John and Rosemary (Firisch) Voegele.

Christy retired from GECOM where she worked for several years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Being outdoors fishing and camping were things she always looked forward to. She was a very fun-loving person who enjoyed life.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Memaw, Momo and Mamaw Joey or Mamaw Christy.

She is survived by her husband, Norman L. Thompson; daughter, Amy Schene (Eric Kessens) of St. Paul; son, Adrian Schene (Alysson Platt) of Batesville; step-son, Jason Thompson (Kristi Cox) of Greensburg; step-daughter, Jessica Thompson of Greensburg; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Steve Voegele, George Voegele, John Voegele, Warren Voegele, Gerald Voegele & Randy Voegele, Tina Deskins, Rose Ellinghausen and Debbie Ertel (John); along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip & Keith and sister, Kathy Ostendorf and brother-in-law Brian Ellinghausen.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 1-3pm followed by 3:00pm funeral service all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Rev. Jay Vanderbur officiating. Burial will be in the Rossburg Cemetery, New Point, Indiana.

In accordance with the Indiana COVID-19 precautions, all attending are required to wear a mask and follow proper social distancing protocol. If you are not feeling well, or if you have compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
