Dale Paul Hornberger of Sunman, IN passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at his home. The son of Paul & Frieda (Schantz) Hornberger was born on June 7, 1943 in Dearborn County, IN. On February 1, 1964 he married Patsy (Schutte) at Adams Lutheran Church, Batesville, IN. The electrician retired from Power Electric, Cincinnati, OH and was a member of Adams Lutheran Church. Dale liked woodworking and made lots of items for his family and friends. In fact just about every one of his relatives has something that Dale made, and he was quite proud of his skillful talent. Dale loved the outdoors and going fishing. When he was able he also liked playing golf. He loved his grandchildren. Throughout his fight with cancer, he was always more concerned about his wife of 50 years than himself. There was a lot of love between them. Dale will be dearly missed by his family & friends. He is survived by his loving wife Patsy, sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin & Marcia Hornberger, Steven & Josie Hornberger, Michael & Kim Hornberger and the late Brian (Lynn) Hornberger; grandchildren, Ashli, Lea, Adam, Austin, Megan, Caleb, Isabelle, Henry, Gregory & Danielle; great granddaughter Aurora Hornberger; brothers, Lester (Audrey) Hornberger & Paul Jr. (Debbie) Hornberger; sisters Gayle (Ralph) Schaefer, Eileen Gunter, Virginia Richter, and Wanda (Harold) Vogt. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded by his brother Jim (Evelyn) Hornberger Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home with Funeral Service 11:00am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Adams Lutheran Church, 9767 N. Adams Church Rd., just south of Batesville. Burial will follow in the Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery. Rev. Roger Tornes officiating. Memorials may be given to Adams Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
