Dennis Scudder, age 64 of Greensburg, Indiana died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. On January 24, 1950 he was born in St. Omer, Indiana, the son of George and Lena Fay (Harcourt) Scudder. He was employed for a long time at the Admiral Corporation until they closed, then he went to work at Hill-Rom and later at Batesville Casket Company. On May 12, 1978 he married Cindy Spurling in Shelbyville and they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this past year. Dennis had a lot of interests. He liked all sports, hunting, fishing, bowling and was a big IU fan. On Sundays his favorite was watching the Colts and Nascar races. His wife said he was always polite and very patient to everyone, and was considered a very wonderful husband. And yes he even liked his mother-In-law, Betty. Dennis is survived by his wife Cindy, sisters Paulette McDonald of Shelbyville, Cathy Robinson of Hanover, Helen Hudson of Shelbyville, Janet Cox of Liberty, KY and brother, Robert Scudder of Indianapolis. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene Scudder and sister LaVerna Scudder who died accidently as a small girl. Visitation is Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 4-7 pm followed by services at 7pm all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville with Rev. Doug Preston officiating. Memorials may be given to the family to help with funeral expense.
