Donald Paul Becker, age 78 years of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born February 2, 1929 in Batesville, he was the son of the late Nelson & Margaret (Gauck) Becker. He married Gloria Skidmore on September 20, 1952 in Aurora, IN. Mr. Becker was owner/operator of City Coal & Oil in Batesville and he also drove a school bus for Batesville Community School Corp. He was a US Army Veteran during Korea, was a member of St. John United Church of Christ (Huntersville), Batesville Lodge 668 F&AM, Murat Shrine & Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, IN; former member & past president of the Batesville Lions Club; Eagles 1130, American Legion Prell Bland Post 271; Eureka Band & formerly involved in Boy Scouts & Little League Baseball. Mr. Becker is survived by his wife Gloria Becker; sons Jay Becker of Batesville, IN & Daniel Becker of Carmel, IN; daughters Cindy Feller of Batesville, IN; Diana Martin of Dayton, OH & Virginia Becker of Batesville, IN; brothers Paul Becker of Las Vegas, NV & John Becker of Rockville, IN; 11 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Kellerman. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 5-8 PM with Masonic services at 8pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ (Huntersville) with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Church Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials are suggested to Batesville Fire Dept., St. John UCC or Rescue 10.
