Doris M. Prentice, age 78 years of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday morning, January 14, 2010 at the Drake Center in Cincinnati, OH. Born December 21, 1931 in Batesville, IN she was the daughter of the late Bertrand & Olivia (Ferkenhoff) Bentfield. Doris graduated from Batesville High School in 1950 and retired from Hill-Rom in Batesville in 1996. She later worked for Save-a-lot. Doris loved almost all types of music except, with her family laughing, "that crappin rappin stuff". She also loved her flower garden, cooking and baking, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, IN. Doris is survived by her daughters Kathy Nobbe and Donna (late Marvin) Nobbe both of Batesville, IN; sons Mike (Luann) Prentice of Napoleon, IN & Dan (Deb) Prentice of Holton, IN and brothers Charles "Chuck" Bentfield of Batesville, IN & Tim Bentfield of Floyds Knob, IN. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Nick, Amanda & Samantha Nobbe, Jarod Prentice, Paige Borgman & Jenny Simon and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Jeanette Bedel & Wanda Bentfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00am at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, IN with Rev. David Kobak, O.F.M. officiating. There will be no visitation.
