Edna Marie Puente, age 73 of Batesville, IN passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Batesville.  Born November 19, 1943 in Batesville she was the daughter of Paul & Louise (Detmer) Bohner.

She married Kenny Puente on October 3, 1964 in St. Pias.  She was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church and the Greensburg Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  She graduated from Batesville High School in 1962 then served as a candy striper at Margaret Mary Community Hospital before becoming an RN.

Edna's life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog.  She loved doing crossword puzzles, games on the computer, reading, going to Amazing Joe's in Columbus every Sunday and the Big Four Café every Saturday morning.  Besides her own family, the people at the hospital were like family too and she will be missed by all very much.

Edna is survived by her husband Kenny Puente, her daughter Linda Schomber (Jim) and her sons Tony Puente (Ginger), Scott Puente (Cindy) and Todd Puente (Mindy) all of Batesville.  She will also be missed by her grandchildren Casey (Betsy), Jacob (Jerica), Justin, Jenna, Jeff (Julie), Evan (Rachel), Morgan, Billie, Tyler & Levi; great grandchildren Gage, Gunnar, Gewel, Gannon, Cheyenne & Lexie and her sisters Paula Bohner of Batesville & Cyntha Ann Shrader (Bob) of St. Paul, IN.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren Chelsea & Nicholas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 12 noon until time of services at 3:00pm at Meyers Funeral Home with Laura Apostal officiating.  Burial will follow services at the Batesville Methodist Cemetery.  In honor of her granddaughter, memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis c/o Meyers Funeral Home, P.O.
