Floyd Paul Vinson, age 84 of Batesville, IN passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born July 26, 1927 in Guilford, IN he was the son of Joseph & Gertrude (Collier) Vinson. The WWII & Korea Army Veteran married Betty Lou Peters on September 5, 1951 in Lawrenceburg, IN. Floyd retired from PriPak and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Batesville and the Moores Hill American Legion Post 209. Floyd is survived by his daughters Carol (Ed) Nunlist of Batesville, IN, Andrea (Richard) Semrow of Port Huron, MI & Melissa Hiltenbeitel of Batesville, IN; sons Paul (Rita) Vinson of Dillsboro, IN, Kurt Vinson of Batesville, IN & Tim (Cathy) Vinson of Cleves, OH. He will also be missed by 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with one on the way and siblings Irvan Vinson of Dearborn Co., IN, Rachael Cook of Moores Hill, IN, Vivian Runner of Aurora, IN, Blanche Cook of Dillsboro, IN & Emma Seals of Sunman, IN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Vinson, a grandson and 3 brothers James, Robert & Franklin Vinson. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 11am until time of service at 1pm all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hogan Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Batesville Food Pantry and may be mailed to Meyers Funeral Home, 500 W. Pearl St., Batesville, IN 47006 or given during the visitation/funeral services.
