George Adam Rief, age 80 of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday evening October 2, 2008 at his home. He was born August 5, 1928 in Brookville, IN to Fred & Viola Rief. He married Hope Fetty on September 18, 1954. Mr. Rief was a member of VFW Post 3183 of Batesville. He retired from Hill-Rom after 35 years and was an Army Veteran. He is survived by his 3 brothers, Percil, Walter & Clifford Rief; 2 sisters Edna Holman and Gladyis Rief; 13 nieces & nephews plus numerous great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his siblings, Charles & Dora Rief, he was also preceded in death by his wife Hope in 1997. Visitation will be Monday, October 6 from 10am until time of service at 12 Noon all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery, Laurel IN with Military Grave Side Rites. Memorials are suggested to Batesville EMS.
