Jerry graduated from South High School in Columbus, OH.  He was the President of his graduating class and the student body.  He received both basketball and football scholarships but chose to pursue only football at Miami University of Ohio under the direction of Coach Jon Pont.  He graduated from Miami University in 1962. That summer, Jerry married Patricia A. Roudebush on July 14, 1962.  He continued his education at Xavier University to receive his Masters Degree.  Jerry taught physical education, sciences and coached at Colerain High School for 35 years.  He was also the C Club sponsor at school for much of that time.  After retirement, he was a devoted life coach for his grandchildren and extended family.

Jerry and his wife liked keeping busy, they did antique shows, enjoyed walking together and of course taking Oliver, his loving Golden Retriever companion, to dog school and shows.  Jerry will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
