Gracie Evelyn Lee, age 85 years of Batesville, IN passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at her home. Born February 17, 1925 in Weldon, AR she was the daughter of the late William & Ella (Voss) Whitt. She married Raphael L. Lee on July 30, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2003. She was a member of Church on the Rock Assembly of God in Batesville, IN and the Red Hat Ladies. Gracie's family said she loved to quilt and send cards to people the old fashion way, by the US Mail. She was also a great cook. Among many things, her specialty was her biscuits & gravy and chocolate chip cookies. Mrs. Lee is survived by her sons Donald (Beverly) Lee of Granite City, IL and Roger Lee of Batesville, IN; 6 grandchildren Kelly Watson, Kevin Lee, Jamie Boggess, Jackie Gilbert, Jeremy Lee & Jacob Lee; sisters Margaret Mayes, Norma Eaker, Donna Roberts, Kay Luttrell, Patricia McGowan and brothers Tommy, Billy & J.C. Whitt. She will also be missed by 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son James Lee. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 5-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Services will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11am with 1 hour visitation before at Church on the Rock Assembly of God in Batesville, IN with Pastor Roger Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Batesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Feed the Kids c/o the funeral home.
