Hoyt Allen "Kais" Covalt, age 81, of Indianapolis died September 10, 2008 in St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Born on April 3, 1927 to Hoyt Cheniah and Cecil Jane Covalt in Washington, IN. Allen married Edna Mae Zweige on June 3, 1962 at St. John's United Church of Christ, in Batesville, IN. Both are retired teachers. Allen was a 1946 graduate of Washington High School and received his teaching degrees from Vincennes, Oakland City and Indiana State University. he taught in Loogootee, Washington, Dyer, Franklin and Indianapolis Public Schools. Allen will be greatly missed by his wife, his sister Dorothy Dunn and brother Earl Covalt (Peggy) and other relatives and friends. Preceded by his sister Ruth Bottoms and brother Merle Covalt.
