J.C. Lykins, age 75 years of Sunman, IN passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born September 24, 1934 in Hindman, KY he was the son of the late Curtis & Laura (Hicks) Lykins. He married Margaret Hann in Harrison, OH on November 20, 1953. He was a retired Operator Engineer operating heavy equipment. His family also said his hobby was cattle farming. They said he would often take money from his job and put it in his cattle farming. J. C. was a member of the Sunman Lodge 590 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, IN. Mr. Lykins is survived by his wife Margaret Lykins, sons David C. (Rita) Lykins of Sunman, IN & Dan (Nan) Lykins of Sunman, IN and daughter Laura (Raymond) Webster of Charleston, SC. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Ronald & Cynthia Creech, Elaine Roope, Angela, Davy, Andy & Ethan Lykins and 5 great grandchildren Tasia, Ronald & Jaedah Creech, Savannah Roope & Cole Lykins, brothers Wiley & Arnold Lykins and sisters Sue Hacker & Barbara Holstram. Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 1-5pm followed by services at 5pm all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN with the Sunman Lodge 590 F&AM conducting the service. A private, family only, burial will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children c/o the funeral home.
