James D. "Dallas" Hickman, age 77 years of Harrison, OH passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at his home. Born August 21, 1933 in Stearns, KY the son of the late Earl & Delphia (Nevels) Hickman. Dallas was owner/operator of D&O Trucking. He married Orangie Smith on April 14, 1956 in Jellico, TN. Mr. Hickman was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in New Trenton, IN & the Columbia Lodge #44 F&AM. Dallas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Orangie Hickman, son & daughter-in-law Wendell & Bonnie Hickman of Florence, KY, daughters & son-in-laws Donna & Daniel Bunnell of Harrison, OH & Pam & Mark Unwin of Gloucester, VA. He will also be missed by 9 grandchildren Scott, Joe, Michael, Tom, Rachel, Kelley, Deana, Travis & the late Tony and 13 great grandchildren Cody, Dylan, Hailey, Karlie, Jake, Ashley, Brady, Cassidy, Lexi, Rickie, Tyler, Kolton & the late Trey, and siblings Pauline (Schuyler)Jones of Stearns, KY, Charlene Burchett of Sidney, OH, Violet (Dave) Helman of Sidney, OH, Janet (Bob) Driskoll of Sidney, OH, Johnny Hickman of Stearns, KY & David Hickman of Pine Knot, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Irene, Carolyn, Donald & Dean. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 6-8pm at Smyrna Baptist Church in New Trenton, IN. Services will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 10:00am at the church with Rev. Chuck McMahan officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery with military graveside rites. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o the funeral home.
