James Dale Meyer, age 88 of Batesville, IN passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Born April 19, 1927 in Batesville he was the son of the late Chester C. Sr. & Ruth (Rogers) Meyer. The 1945 graduate of Batesville High School retired from the State of Indiana as a surveyor. He served his country overseas during WWII in the US Coast Guard. James was a life member of the VFW & American Legion both in Batesville. James is survived by his son Steven Meyer of Osgood, IN; stepsons Gene (Carolyn) Back and Tom Back both of Batesville. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Jennifer Meyer & Adam (Emma) Meyer, and his brother Dick (Marian) Meyer of Batesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lena Mae (Thomas) Back-Meyer, step-daughters Judy Garnett & Charlene Webster and his brothers John, Robert & Chester Jr. Meyer. Graveside Services with military graveside rites will be Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Jill Kepler-Campbell officiating.
