James Leo Nobbe, age 74 of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at Hospice of Cincinnati at Twin Towers. Born July 23, 1941 and was the son of the late Leo & Jean (Kalb) Nobbe. James, along with his brother Steve owned & operated Nobbe Motors, the L.J. Nobbe Agency and Nobbe Oil Co. The 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Prep School in Bardstown, KY was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the United States Air Force Reserves, Hillcrest, Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Ripley Co. Repeater Assoc. He married Saundra Peters on September 2, 1967 at St. Louis Catholic Church. James is survived by his son & his wife James Leo II & Jennifer Nobbe of Batesville, IN and his daughter & her husband Natasha & John Kellerman of Batesville. He will also be missed by his grandsons Augustus Owyn Kellerman and Leo Samual Nobbe, his brother and his wife Steve & Terri Nobbe, his nephew & his wife Joe & Kirstie Nobbe, 3 great nephews & 1 great niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Saundra Nobbe and his brother, Douglas Nobbe, who died as a young boy. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 4-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. Burial with military honors will follow services at St. Louis Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Ripley County Community Foundation, Boy Scouts #634 or Batesville Youth Football c/o Meyers Funeral Home.
