Jane McGowan, age 83 years of Batesville, IN passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Born in Van Wert, OH she was the daughter of the late Carl & Elma (Blomeyer) Thoms. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan and worked for Dow Chemical as a research chemist. She married Clarence J. "Bud" McGowan in Ann Arbor, MI on Aug. 28, 1948. Mrs. McGowan is survived by her husband Clarence J. "Bud" McGowan, sons Ronald L. McGowan of Ithaca, MI & Douglas J. McGowan of Saratoga, CA; grandchildren Jeffrey L., Laura Kelly & Peter J. McGowan & brother Rolfe Thoms of Florida. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 4:00 PM at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY at a later date.
