Mildred Imogene Creech was born on June 25, 1923 in a mining camp in High Splint, KY to Henry & Grace Creech. In 1928 the family moved to Indiana where she enrolled in second grade at the age of 5. She graduated from Sunman High School in 1941. On May 24, 1941 she married Gerald Robert Reed in Lawrenceburg, IN. March 13, 1942 they welcomed their first born, Judith Carol Reed. Eight years later their daughter Jacquelyn Darlene Reed was born Feb. 25, 1950. The family worked for evangelist Oral Roberts for 12 years traveling all over the US and was a member of the Church on the Rock in Batesville. Jean loved feeding her hummingbirds, growing flowers & doing yard work. She loved going to church and listening to John Hagee. She also loved all kinds of family activities. One of her biggest highlights was when she & Gerald went out to eat with her sister-in-law & brother-in-law Wilma & Aaron for their anniversary and Aaron would talk about the Bible. In her later years she enjoyed going to her daughter Judy's for lunch and was looking forward to seeing her first great granddaughter graduate from high school. Now she will view it from Heaven. She leaves behind her daughters Judy (Late William) Kor & Jackie (Late Randy) Adkins both of Sunman, IN; grandchildren Sheila Hardy, Sheryl Gross & Ashleigh Adkins; great grandchildren Erica Hardy, Brandon Hardy, Jessica Hardy, Sara Redelman, John Redelman, Tyler Gross & Collin Kozelichki. She was preceded in death by her siblings Dena Abplanalp, Mae Creech, Ted Creech & Charles Creech. Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 12pm 2pm followed by services at 2pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN with Pastor Roger Dean officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, IN. Memorials are suggested to the Church on the Rock in Batesville c/o the funeral home.
