Jerry Cecil Furnish, age 79 passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home in Versailles, IN. Born June 21, 1936 in Switzerland County, IN he was the son of the late Oliver Edward & Marjorie (Dunning) Furnish. He was a 1954 graduate of Vevay High School. The truck driver and former supervisor for US Shoe married Peggy Ramsey on June 28, 1957 in Switzerland County, IN and was a member of the Church on the Rock in Batesville. Jerry is survived by his wife Peggy Furnish, sons and daughters-in-laws Vance (Kimberly) Furnish & Oliver (Jennifer) Furnish; grandchildren Jared, Nathan, Matthew, Philip, Amelia & Kyndell Furnish and his great grandchildren Silas, Amira, Lottie, Caden, Simon, Monty, Xavier & Elias. He will also be missed by his sister Karen Lewis, brothers-in-laws Jestin Lewis & Noel Houze and sister-in-law Mary Lou Furnish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gareth Furnish and his sister Eileen Houze. Celebration of Life for Jerry will be at the Church on the Rock in Batesville, with Pastor Roger Dean officiating, on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 6:00 PM. Friends may call from 5-6pm at the church.
