John Henry Jones, 79, of Osgood, Indiana, passed away December 19, 2022. He was born in Corbin, Kentucky on May 5, 1943 to Eva (Bolton) and Finley Jones.

John was an avid fisherman who loved NASCAR and working on lawnmowers. He was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church in Osgood and proudly served in the United States Army. John loved his wife, family, and church dearly and will be missed by them.

John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy (Pruiett) Jones; children, Marsha Meister (Stephen) and John Jones Jr. (Rosie); grandchildren, Achleigh Simon (Jeremy), Kayla Miller (David), Brittany Horan (Craig), Stephen Meister, Kristina Hicks (Cameron), Brianna Gould (Ricky), Jessiah Watts (Shannon), Blayton Jones (Mary), and Michael Norman; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Justice, David Jones, Gene Jones, Finley Jones Jr., and Carmel Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Alice Grove, Margaret Ballinger, Myrtle Bradner, Bill Jones, and Loretta Goodall.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 5:00 p.m. all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Military honors will be conducted after services by the Batesville VFW Post #3183 and Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271.

Memorials can be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the family by bringing to the services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
