John Leroy Massanet Swartz, born on August 30, 2017 to John Anthony Massanet Cruz, III and Julia Renee' Swartz in Fort Hood, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 near New Bern, North Carolina.

He was an energetic, loving boy whose hero was Spiderman, and loved all things Star Wars, Marvel Comics and his dog, Foxy.

He is survived by his mother, father, and his little sister, Vivian Lanora Massanet Swartz; his maternal uncle, Scott Leroy Swartz and aunt, Sandra Ann Lillian Swartz; his paternal aunt, Grace Milan-Padilla and uncle, Crescencio Padilla, and cousins, Stephanie, Adrianni and Sophia Padilla; his grandparents, Scott William Swartz, Carole (Rob) Barhorst, Mirna Cruz Rios and John Anthony Massanet Cruz II; his great grandparents, John & Cheryl Swartz and Kenneth E. Gailliez.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Miriam Ester Cruz Rios.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 12:00pm - 1:30pm with 1:30pm funeral service, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial to follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Napoleon, IN. Pastor Martin Bornhoeft officiating.
