John David Turner, age 64 of Greensburg, IN passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his residence. Born September 30, 1949 in Batesville, IN he is the son of John Turner & the late Delores (Hacker) Turner. He served his country in the US Air Force and later became a chopper pilot in the US Army. David graduated from New Point High School in 1967 then attended Indiana Technical College in Indianapolis until he was called up by the military. For many years he worked for GECOM in Greensburg before coming ill. Although David was sick the last 8 years, he loved life. He liked Corvettes, owning 3 of them in his life time, along with 2 Harley Davidson's. He also cherished his granddaughter Alexis who will miss him dearly. David is survived by his father and step mother John & Lois Turner of Batesville, IN and his son Jeff Turner of Greensburg, IN. He will also be missed by his granddaughter Alexis Turner and good friend & cousin Danny Hacker of New Point, IN. Visitation will be Friday, October 11, 2013 from 11am until time of services at 1pm with military services to follow at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 E, Batesville, IN with Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o the funeral home.
