John Richard Ward, age 75 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.  Born on July 6, 1945 in Covington, Kentucky, he was the son of Harry and Mary (Farley) Wolters.

The 1963 Batesville High School graduate served in the US Navy during Vietnam. John married Nancy Sarringhaus. He retired after a career with Bohn Aluminum. John liked to spend his time golfing, bowling and watching sports.  He loved basketball in particular, especially cheering on the Greensburg Pirates.  John was also a WWII buff and enjoyed all the old WWII movies.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Jennifer Welage (Tom) of Greensburg, Jeff Ward (Stephanie) of Greensburg and Jason Ward (Lillian) of Abita Springs, LA; grandchildren, Ryan Welage, Elaine Welage, Andrew Welage, Shelby Kirchhoff (Jason), Jonathon Ward, Gabriela Ward and Jake Ward and one great grandchild on the way; along with his siblings, Jim Ward, George Wolters, Harry Wolters, Rod Wolters and Bob Wolters.

Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1-3 pm followed by 3 pm funeral service all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Rev. Shawn Crisman officiating.
