Johnny Mack Trent, age 68 of New Point, IN passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, IN. Born May 1, 1944 in Cowan, KY he was the son of the late Hager & Edna (Thomas) Trent. Mr. Trent was a 1962 graduate of Whitesburg High School, US Air Force Veteran and retired after 39 years from Batesville Casket Co. On November 28, 1963 he married Lynette Ison to which they have 5 children. He was a member of the New Point Christian Church where he was also a deacon and a member of the New Point Kiwanis. Johnny was an outdoorsman. He liked to cut grass, cut wood, work the garden and was always willing to help others, whether he knew then or not. He was a very active member of his church and the Kiwanis. He was active in helping people thru the church mission and was known thru the community as a very good friend. His family will remember him as the most wonderful husband and father, and most caring & loving grandpa which they will miss dearly. Mr. Trent is survived by his wife Lynette Trent, daughters and son-in-laws Sandy & Keith Weisner of Carmel, IN and Beverly & Greg Williams of New Point, IN and sons and daughter-in-laws Tommy & Wanda Trent of Millhousen, IN, Timmy & Shelly Trent of South Prairie, WA and Terry Trent of New Point, IN. He will also be missed by 11 grandchildren and his brothers Tommy Trent of New Point, IN and David Trent of Whitesburg, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Rollin & Harold Trent, Joan Hatton & Jacqueline Trent. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 4-8pm at New Point Christian Church. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00am also at New Point Christian Church with Mark Vice officiating.
