Joseph Paul Radvansky Sr., 84, of Batesville, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 27, 2014.
Joseph served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Barbara (Pilch) in Chicago. He and his wife resided in Batesville for 56 years.
On August 1, 1956, he joined the Indiana State Police and started the post in Versailles, Indiana, retiring as Sergeant after 21 years or service on January 1, 1977. He served as City Judge of Batesville from September 1, 1989 until 2007.
He is a member of St. Louis Parish, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW 40/8, 70P, Pioneers of the Indiana State Police and SWD board member. He was a 50 year member of the Hillcrest Country Club, and one of the founders of the athletic program at Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenburg.
Survivors include: Wife Barbara Radvasky, son Joseph Radvansky Jr., daughters Paula Ferree, Joannie Siebert, and Ann Lecher. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Luke and Sam Ferree, Megan Siebert, Betty Johannigman, Ray & Allen Lecher, and great-grandchild Quinn Johannigman.
No visitation will be held. Funeral services will be held atSt. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Military honors will follow at the church.A celebration of his Life will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Batesville with the Indiana State Police honors being held their.
Memorials may be made the American Legion Post 271, VFW Post 3183, and Knights of Columbus Hall.
