Joshua Vernon Mays, age 26 years of Batesville, IN passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 in Batesville. Born December 12, 1983 in Greensburg, IN he is the son of Robert D. & Roberta (Cornett) Mays. He worked for Blue Ant Construction. He married Heather Wilson on July 4, 2008 in Batesville, IN. Josh loved the outdoors, loved fishing & was an avid gun shooter. He loved being around friends & family. He was a good father & husband and will be missed dearly by his family & friends. He married Heather Wilson on July 4, 2008. Joshua is survived by his wife Heather Mays, mother Roberta Mays of Batesville, IN, father & stepmother Robert D. & Linda Mays of Batesville, IN, sons Uriah & Noah Mays both at home, paternal grandparents Darrell & Alice Ellis of Harrison, OH, maternal grandfather Vernon Cornett of New Point, IN, maternal great grandmother Oma Cornett of New Point, IN. He will also be missed by his 3 sisters & 2 brother-in-laws Rhonda Phillips of Batesville, IN, Christy & Mike Lecher of Batesville, IN and Rhonda & Dave Sanderson of Harrison, OH, and 2 brothers Joe Hendel & Jimmy Mays both of Batesville, IN and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5-8pm at New Point Christian Church in New Point, IN. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00am at the church with Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN.
