Joy Johnson, age 86 of Greensburg, Indiana and formerly of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Arbor Grove Village. The daughter of Raymond and Opal Becker (nee: McKay) was born on July 17, 1934 in Batesville.

She graduated from Batesville High School in 1952. Joy spent time as a homemaker for her family. She served as the hostess for the Sherman House restaurant in Batesville, at one time.

She will be dearly missed by her son Greg Thackery (Holly) of Greensburg; grandchildren, Joshua Thackery (Susan) and Jessica Waltman (Dan); great grandchildren, Ethan Thackery, Erica Thackery and Abigail Adams; along with her sister Linda Becker of Columbus, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Johnson, son Gary Thackery and brother, Bill Becker.

Services are private. Her ashes will be buried at St. John UCC Cemetery in Batesville at a later date.
