Kathleen "Katy" Connor Rice of Batesville, IN left us on November 7, 2009 after a 5 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born August 20, 1946 in Elpaso, TX she was the daughter of the late John Edward Jr & Isabelle (Tuttle) Connor. She worked as the office manager at Custom Conveyor, Inc in Greensburg, IN. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. If you knew Katy, it was no surprise she was able to live so long with what is normally, a short lived disease. She loved to travel and one of her favorite places was Hawaii. Her most fond memory is a trip she enjoyed with a dear friend. She preferred to stay to the more traveled areas vs. being more adventurous but her friend could go either way. Her love of life was contagious. Katy also had a great talent and love of art and painting. Her work has been displayed and enjoyed around the country. She is survived, and missed greatly, by her sons Curtis Rice of Milwaukee, WI and Patrick Rice of Oconomowac, WI; brother John Edward Connor III of Columbus, IN, and 3 grandchildren. A private service is planned for the family. In appreciation for the excellent care she received from the Margaret Mary Community Hospital Hospice Program, Katy's wishes are that any gifts in her memory should be made to that program c/o Margaret Mary Community Hospital Hospice, 321 Mitchell Ave., Batesville, IN 47006
