Kay Frances Hughes, age 72 of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, IN. Kay was born on July 26, 1941 and was the daughter of Pete & Marietta (McKain) Seiter. She worked for many years at US Playing Card in Norwood, OH but retired from the Romweber Co. in Batesville. Kay was married to Norman Lester Hughes and he preceded her in death in April 2000. She is survived by her children Vivian Metcalf, Angela (Joe) Nutley, Tammy Gabbard, Skip Gabbard, Loretta (Bill) Norman, Jimmy Gabbard, Jesse Gabbard, Bernice (Mark) Kersey, & Michelle (Jim) Widener. She will also be missed by her stepsons Darrell & Robert Hughes, 31 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her sister Matilda Brickner and her brother Bill Seiter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son Danny Gabbard as an infant. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 5-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Memorials are suggested to the family c/o the funeral home.
