Larry Eugene Hash, age 65 of Columbus, IN passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home in Columbus. Born May 5, 1947 in Greensburg, IN he was the son of Ralph & Ethel (Veerkamp) Hash. Mr. Hash retired from the Army National Guard full time and also worked part time for Lowe's Home Improvement in Columbus. Larry was a member of the Columbus American Legion and The Gun Fighters Club in Indianapolis, a retired military group. The 1965 graduate of Burney High School, near Greensburg, married Deborah Evelyn Thielbar on April 22, 1972 at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville. He attended Taylorsville United Methodist Church. Larry loved the outdoors, hunting & fishing. He also loved to watch the military channel. He was a history buff and could tell you anything about WWII. He was a loving husband, dad & grandpa. Mr. Hash is survived by his wife Deborah Hash, children Brian (Jennifer) Hash of Arlington, IN & Melissa (Mark) Snyder of Seymour, IN. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Kendyl Herbert, Cody Snyder & Taylor Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother who was killed in Vietnam Richard Hash and his sister Rosemary Hash died as an infant. Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2013 from 4-7pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00am at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery with military grave side rites. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Assoc.
