Larry "Max" McLeary, age 66 of West Harrison, IN passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home. The son of Wilson J. McLeary and Jeanne (Wonder) McLeary was born on January 11, 1948 in Johnstown, PA. He was a graduate of Richland High School in Johnstown, PA and Wright State University. On August 8, 1981 he married Patty (Barhorst) in Mt. Adams, OH. The owner of Max Interior Design and Baseball and the Blues was very involved in the world of baseball. He umpired in minor league, and in collegiate and high school games. Max was General Manager for the Cincinnati Steam. He was a member of the Blue Chip Umpire Association, the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and the Ohio High School Assoc. He worked for the Reds' Community Fund, running a summer program for inner city children. Max will be dearly missed by his wife, Patty of 32 years along with his extended family and friends. He is also survived by his sons Matthew and Marty McLeary. Visitation, Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 9-12noon immediately followed by Liturgy of the Word at 12:00pm all in All Saints Parish, St. Joseph Campus in St. Leon, IN. Father Scott Nobbe officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Reds Community Fund or Cincinnati Steam c/o the funeral home.
