Lawrence Harry Wessel, age 88 years of Batesville, IN passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 at his home on the farm. Born June 11, 1917 in Franklin Co., IN he was the son of the late William A. & Selma (Belter) Wessel. He was a life long farmer on his own farm. He married Roselyn Kuntz on June 22, 1946 in St. Mary, IN. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the Franklin County Farm Bureau. Mr. Wessel is survived by his wife Roselyn Wessel, sons David & Kevin Wessel both of Batesville, IN and daughters Lucy Mikula and Mary Hornbach both of Indianapolis, IN; Donna Wietlisbach and Lorraine Hampson both of Batesville, IN and Jane Scheidler of Millhousen, IN. He will also be missed by 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and his brother Alvin Wessel of Greensburg, IN. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Orville Wessel and sister Mildred Orr. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 4-7 pm. Services will be Monday, December 12, 2005 at 11:00 am all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Right to Life, St. John UCC or St. Louis Church.
