Leona Clara Walterman, age 80 years of Greensburg, IN passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 at her home. Born October 20, 1927 in Batesville, she was the daughter of the late James Pearl & Goldie (White) Doyle. She was a retired care giver and also former co-owner of Walterman Mobile Home Sales and Walterman Transport. She was a long time member of T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). In 1984 she was the Indiana State T.O.P.S. queen and received the key to the city of Greensburg. She married Carl Walterman on April 7, 1945 at St. John United Church of Christ where she was also a member. Mrs. Walterman is survived by her children Carleen (Bob) Weiler of Batesville, IN; Connie (Dwayne) Dean, Beverly (Phillip) Hitchcock, Rick (Brenda) Walterman, Melody (Sonny) Snyder & Greg (Darlene) Walterman all of Greensburg, IN; 14 grandchildren & 27 great grandchildren; sisters Martha Geier of Oldenburg, IN & Helen Herd of New Point, IN; brother James Doyle of Greensburg, IN and Aunts Lottie Bergman of Batesville, IN & Cora Stratman of Florida. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 4-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Decatur County Hospice or ASPCA.
