Leonard "Hank" E. Narwold, age 80 years of Batesville, IN passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. Born May 8, 1930 in Batesville, he was the son of the late Fred C.H. & Lorena (Einhaus) Narwold. He married Opal Wehr on June 24, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads where he was still a member and was always involved. He retired from the Farmers Feed in Batesville and was a member of the Batesville Lodge F&AM #668 and a Batesville High School Graduate. Leonard had many hobbies. He was the coach for the church softball team and when someone didn't show up, he would play for them. He also enjoyed bowling, was one of the hottest horseshoe players in Batesville, an avid card player and a huge Batesville High School basketball fan. He also liked being outdoors on his farm. But most of all, he was a devoted grandfather & great grandfather and will be missed by his whole family. Leonard is survived by his daughters Wanita Linkel & Pam K. Narwold both of Batesville, IN and sons Richard (Carol) Narwold & Timothy Narwold both of Batesville, IN. He will also be missed by his 8 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Opal Narwold on Oct. 29, 1996, daughter Melinda Narwold, sons James, David & John Narwold, sister Mildred Kops and 1 granddaughter. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 4-8pm with Masonic service at 8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads with Pastor Robin Owen officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Batesville Kiwanis Kids & Us Program or the Church Cemetery Fund c/o the funeral home.
