Leonard John Miller, age 95 of Sunman and formerly of Milan, Indiana died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. Born January 20, 1915 to Herman and Catherine (Pfeiffer) Miller in Bridgetown, Ohio. On January 12, 1946 he married Marie C. Hackman in Cincinnati, Ohio. The World War II Army veteran was raised in Mack, Ohio. Leonard was a truck driver for Gollers Express Hauling for Formica and a part time farmer. He was a member of the former Odd Fellows and the Cincinnati Retired Teamsters. A current member of St. John United Church of Christ, he was also a former member at Pierceville United Methodist Church. He will be dearly missed by his only daughter, Marian (Dale) Koester of Sunman, IN. In addition to his wife, Marie, he was preceded in death by his twin sister Helen Miller; sisters Marie Jansen and Anna Gustovson; and brother Joseph Miller. Visitation, Tuesday February 23, 2010, 4-8pm at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, Indiana. Funeral Services, Wednesday, 11am at St. John United Church of Christ in Batesville. Procession to the burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro, Indiana will follow after a lunch at Church. Military graveside rites will be at cemetery service. Rev. Dave Johnston officiating. Memorials may be given to St. John United Church of Christ, Pierceville United Methodist Church or Sunman Rescue 20 care of the funeral home.
