Lloyd Alfred Koelling of Batesville formerly of Lawrenceburg, IN died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 94 years of age, in the St. Andrews Health Care Campus. Born on October 15, 1914 in Detroit, KS to Herman H. and Julia L. (Mehl) Koelling. On September 10, 1942, Mr. Koelling married Nixie Beason in Louisville, KY and they had five children. A 1938 graduate of Talmage High School in Talmage, KS and Fort Hays State Univerity in Hays, KS. He retired from Seagrams as a 'shipping supervisor' and was a member of the Batesville Christian Church. Mr. Koelling is survived by his wife, Nixie (Batesville); daughters, Jodell Steuver (Aurora, IN) and Kim Seibel (Vero Beach, FL); sons, Kent Koelling (Lawton, OK), Kyle Koelling (Lawrenceburg, IN); sister Ada Hawkins (Lewisberry, PA); eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Koelling and six of his siblings. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 6-7pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7pm all at Batesville Christian Church with Pastor Steve Yeaton officiating. His body is being donated to the UC Medical School. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association or Batesville Christian Church c/o Meyers Funeral Home.
