Magdalen "Maggie" L. Bartling, age 84 years of Morris, IN passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004 in Cincinnati, OH. Born Dec. 6, 1919 in Batesville, IN the daughter of Harry & Matilda (Billman) Ferkenhoff. She married Francis H. Bartling on June 13, 1947. Her and her husband owned and operated the former F.H. Poultry and Bartling Bait Shop. She was a member of St. Anne's Ladies Sodality, youth leader and coach at St. Anthony C.Y.O., chairperson for St. Anthony Kitchen Dept. for the Labor Day Picnic and former choir member at St. Louis Church. Mrs. Bartling is survived by her son Bart Bartling of Batesville, IN; daughters Venita Dotson of Cincinnati, OH; Karla Henderson of Dover, IN; Denee "Dee" Andres of Dover, IN and Lisa Bartling of Morris, IN; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.; sisters Peggy Hooten of Batesville, IN; Elverna Comer of Rushville, IN; Eugena Willett of Columbus, OH; Juanita Chappelow of Connersville, IN and Gloria Ferkenhoff of Cincinnati, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ferkenhoff, Olivia Bentfield and Clotilda Schriner and brother Carl Ferkenhoff. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 5-8 PM with rosary at 6 PM at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Church in Morris, IN with Msgr. Bernard Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Church of American Diabetes Assoc.
