Malcolm "Cap" Fredrick Heidt, age 92, of Batesville, IN passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011. The son of Clarence and Lorena (Brummer) Heidt was born in Batesville on May 25, 1919. Cap graduated from Batesville High School in 1937 and was in the Battle of the Bulge with the U.S. Army during WWII. On August 22, 1946 he married Louise Craig in Greensburg, IN. Cap was a plumber all his life. He ran Heidt Plumbing for many years until he retired in 1990. He was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church, Post #1198 VFW and the Rural Fire Department. Cap loved farming, the outdoors, animals and especially his family. He was known for his pratical jokes and story telling, which usually included war stories and his Army days of working with the carrier pigions. He is survived by his son, Thomas (Cindy) Heidt of Versailles, IN, daughters Janice Bedel of Versailles and Connie (Tom) Miller of Batesville; six grandchildren, Jon & Mark Heidt, Rick & Steve Bedel and Nancy & Clint Miller; along with seven great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceeded in death by his sister Vaunetta Moenter. Visitation Monday, October 10 from 11-1pm with funeral service immediately following, all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Rev.
