Obituary

Margaret E. Giesting-Jones, age 80 of Batesville, IN passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. On September 1, 1933 in Middletown, OH, Margaret was born to Robert E. and Ethel (Jackson) Martin.

She married John Giesting on October 25, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1969. On May 4, 1985 Margaret married William Jones and he too passed away on June 3, 2004.

Margaret was a homemaker and also worked at Nolte's pharmacy for many years. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Pocahontas, the Batesville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles. Margaret loved to bowl and even won a trophy in her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed playing bingo with others.

She is survived by one son, James Giesting of Oldenburg; three daughters, Patricia Wagner of Batesville, Barbara Laughlin of Newark, OH and Cheryl Groce of Brookville; her step son, William Jones of Batesville; two step daughters, Gerri Schwegman and Nancy Kruthaupt both of Batesville; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; along with her brother, Joseph Martin of Batesville and two sisters, Dorothy Werner of Batesville and Joanie Budd of Mitchell, IN.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Gerald Giesting, and siblings Robert Martin and Rose Marie Martin.

Visitation will be 4-8pm on Tuesday, April 15 th at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, IN. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the St. Andrews Activities Fund or Holy Family Church through the funeral home.
