Marian Margaret Jansing, age 83 of St. Mary's, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at her home. Born on March 29, 1932 on the family farm she was the daughter of Joe & Cecilia (nee: Weber) Meer. On December 1, 1951 she married Irvin Jansing in Oak Forest, IN. Marian enjoyed doing word searches in her spare time along with putting dozens of jigsaw puzzles together. When she was younger she raised chickens and in the spring she would clean about 200 roosters and put them up in the freezer. On Sundays they would always have fried chicken and pies. She loved to cook & bake. Marian baked a lot of pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls and always baked her own bread, never bought any. She spent 35 years helping her husband at their Jansing Garage. Marian was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Brookville, IN and a member of St. Mary's of the Rock Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Irvin, son, Stephen (Rhonda) Jansing of Paris, IN and daughters, Marcia Bedel, Darlene (John) Goldsmith and Gayle (Doug) Bedel all of Batesville; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; along with two sisters Ruth Ronnebaum of Oldenburg, IN and Dorothy (Donald) Kuntz of St. Mary's. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandchild. Visitation will be 9-11am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 followed by an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Mary's of the Rock Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Fr. Humbert Moster O.F.M. officiating. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary's of the Rock Preservation Society. Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville is handling arrangements.
