Marie West, age 87 of Batavia, OH formerly of Harrison, OH passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Batavia Nursing Center. Born February 2, 1928 in Owsley County, KY she was the daughter of the late Clabe & Clora (Hall) Herald. She married Marvin P. West on August 3, 1946 in Newport, KY and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1997. Marie worked for RL Polk and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison, OH. Marie is survived by her children Peggy McCarthy of Sunman, IN; Linda (David) Shoemaker of Brookville, IN and Dale West of W. Harrison, IN. She will also be missed by her 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Patsy Hurst and 7 brothers and sisters. Graveside services were held 12 noon on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Glen Haven Cemetery.
