Marilyn Brinkman, age 81, passed peacefully March 14, 2012 at the Heritage House of Greensburg. Born June 28, 1930 in Greensburg, IN she was the daughter of Appolonia (Baumer) Allbright. The 1948 graduate of Oldenburg Academy (ICA) married Jerry V. Brinkman on September 8, 1951 in Oldenburg, IN. She was a member of St. Louis Church where she served with the choir for 50 years and member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn loved playing cards and those who knew her, understood if she lost a nickel playing cards, "Oldenburg Rum" it didn't go well. She also loved bingo as well as spending time in the kitchen making wonderful meals & cookies for her family. She loved tending her rose bushes and never missed a summer performance of the Eureka Band in the Park. Marilyn leaves behind her husband of 60 years Jerry V. Brinkman and children Tom (Rosa) Brinkman of Cincinnati, OH, Karla Binder of Harrison, OH & Kathy (Late Buddy) Riley of Batesville, IN. She will also be missed by her 6 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Neukam in 1982. Visitation will be Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 9-11 am at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, IN followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at. St. Louis Catholic Church, Batesville, IN with Father Randy Summers officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Decatur County or the Buddy Riley Memorial Fund.
