Dr. Mark Paul Haverkos DVM, 69, of Batesville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 18, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio as the son of Paul and Pauline (Morris) Haverkos.

Mark enjoyed music. As a dedicated veterinarian, Mark's career was rooted in compassion, and he took pride in his work with animals, particularly through holistic approaches. He was an active member of the American Holistic Veterinarian Society and the American Veterinarian Acupuncture Society, using alternative methods to help animals live healthier, more comfortable lives. His diverse interests reflected his well-rounded character and his deep desire to make a positive impact on the world around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Deckebach; sons: Chaske Haverkos and Mehdi Alavi; siblings: Jeff Haverkos, Julie Haverkos, and Steve Haverkos.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pauline.

Mark's wishes were to be cremated and a private service will be held by the family.
